    Corporate Investigations

Most often companies call us after a crime has occurred. We would prefer to spare clients as much need of an investigation as possible through education, planning and putting proper measures in place when hiring.

Crimes against businesses are well defined by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners in their Annual Report to the Nation. These include crimes of a financial nature. Crimes of all types occur within and around businesses every day.

Employees and former employees set out to do harm to employers. Sadly, most succeed. Most distressing to investigators is the statistical fact that most businesses do nothing about it. There are many reasons for this as well.

Companies can be held liable for negligent hiring and negligent retention for matters involving employees. Pre-employment background investigations are an area of specialty. We prefer to tailor these investigations to clients’ specific needs.

For the long term benefit of the client, we prefer to assist companies in implementing best hiring practices through proper and diligent background investigations of new hires. Companies believe that they are protected by “packages” that can be purchased from national vendors. Employers must be certain that the vendor has taken into consideration the laws of their jurisdiction and even their county.

We offer consulting services to assist clients as they attempt to reduce liability with matters related to background information. If we can help clients before the problem arises, it will reduce the likelihood that one will.
