    Private Investigators are hired to undertake investigations on behalf of the hiring party. The hiring party may be an individual or an organization. Private Investigators are often hired by Attorneys to gather information for court cases and by insurance companies to investigate claims prior to settlement. A Private Investigator gathers details about a person or property of interest and provides reports and documentation of these details to the client. Private Investigators are also hired to locate missing persons, document suspected infidelity, and expose fraud and to provide surveillance, personal protection, and electronic countermeasures. Private Investigators often have previous experience in other professions such as law enforcement, the military, government agencies and the insurance industry.
